Who are Avon Kite Flyers?
  The Avon Kite Flyers are a group of people who enjoy kites. Most of our members live around the Bristol area of England , but we have members as far away as the USA.


How much does it cost?
  Just £15.00 for a full years membership. This will include all members of your household.


How do I become a member of AKF?
 
  • Fill in the membership form.
  • Make a cheque or PO for £15.00 made payable to 'Avon Kite Flyers' and send it to:

What do we do?
  As a club we act as a friendly meeting point and information source for local kite flyers and aim to promote the enjoyment of kite flying (including competition flying) and help those who wish to build their own kites.


Do I have to know anything about kites?
  No. We have members of all ages and flying abilities. By talking to other members you can answer all those kite related problems.


How will I know whats going on?    
  As a member you will receive a newsletter 'AKF Flysheet' every other month. It contains News, Festival reports, Kite plans, Letters, Club night details, New members details and lots more. You can also join the E-Mail list to have up to date News.


Where can I fly my kite?
  AKF hold regular "fly-ins"  around the Bristol area. (an opportunity to meet one another socially as well as for kite flying). Normally fly-ins are at Ashton Court estate, on the 1st Sunday of the month, in the summer we have mid-week fly-ins around the area.

After Fly-Ins at Ashton Court we meet in the Failand Inn at Failand. All members are welcome, but beware of the stuffed donkey!

What and where are Kite Festivals?
  Kite Festivals are where Kite flyers, Kite traders, International Kite flyers and members of the public get together and have fun making and flying kites of all shapes and sizes. The club attends many kite events around the UK as well as being hosts at the annual Bristol International Kite Festival, in September.


How can I tell if someone is an AKF member?
  AKF has a distinctive logo which is displayed on banners at all events and is worn on club tee-shirts, sweatshirts and badges.


Where can I get my tee-shirt or sweat-shirt?
  When you join you can then order them at club nights etc.


What are the benefits of being an A.K.F. member?
